The glamor and excitement of the circus quickly wear off when spectators
realize that the animal acts they are watching result from a cruel cycle
of exploitation, intimidation, and abuse. Unlike human performers, circus
animals NEVER have a choice about performing activities that are
completely foreign to their nature. Elephants do not stand on their heads
and tigers do not jump through fire in the wild. The animals are beaten
to force them to do such peculiar things. I applaud your initiative as a
powerful means to educate the public on the dismal reality of circus life
for animals.... Your efforts to lead in this cause are exemplary and most
appreciated.
