platforms and tigers jump through fiery hoops, I have learned disturbing
things about circuses. Today I am embarrassed that I cheered when those
performing animals did their tricks because today I know what circus
animals suffer to be part of the circus. When I was a boy I never gave
any thought to what lay behind those animal acts being performed in the
rings at center stage... Today I realize what they were doing was cruel...
Something is sadly wrong when we treat animals the way they are treated in
circuses. There are animal-free circuses with amazing performers, why not
