Hofstede and other Minneapolis City Council members condone animal abuse

A great article about the Animal Protection Amendment by Dwight Hobbes of Insight News published 10/3/07 (This article is not available online yet, but we'll post it on our website when it is.)

Highlights from the commentary:

* "The Minneapolis City Council's September 20 refusal to ban circus animal acts is an unconscionable disgrace. It is blatant abuse of creatures that cannot defend themselves; blatant abuse in order to keep turning a buck- for circuses and for the city."

* "None of these animals understand why their lives have been made so miserable. You do, though. Just hold this city accountable- since there are plenty of circuses that don't include animal acts- to offer conscientiously humane entertainment."
